The line of sight component of solar photospheric magnetic field in the active region NOAA AR 7986. These data were obtained with the Imaging Vector Magnetograph at Mees Solar Observatory on Haleakala, Maui. The time of the observations was 1996 Auguts 30, 16:55 U.T. This image is a mosaic of four separate magnetograms obtained over a fifteen minute time span; the blank areas at upper left and lower right are due to the relative alignment of the tiles. The mosaic covers an angular extent of 540 x 502 arc seconds with a pixel size of 1.1 arc seconds. The image is scaled to a range of +/- 300 Gauss to better show the network; hence the sunspot and some of the plage area is saturated (black/white).
