Mees Solar Observatory POI Telescope

Images of the full disk of the Sun in the Ca II K line at 3933 Angstroms are recorded with a CCD camera. The POI (for P-mode Oscillation Imager) is an improved version of the original K-line telescope.

The filter is an interference filter with 4 Angstrom centered on the line. This passband is dominated by light from the upper photosphere, in the deep wings of the K line. The entire CCD, 1024 x 1024 pixels is read out. The image scale is 1.9 arc seconds per pixel.
