Mees K-line Log Archive The K-line realtime log files are gathered, cleaned, and written into monthly files for archiving. A set of information is saved for each oscillation image recorded. The values are: MONTH Number of the month of observation, U.T. DAY Number of the day of the month of observation, U.T. YEAR Number of the year of observation, U.T., 2 digit HOUR Hour of observation, U.T. MINUTE Minute of observation, U.T. SECOND Second of observation, U.T. INTAVG Average intensity in 32 x 32 box at image center, ADU. EXPTIM Exposure time, ticks. NUMEXP Number of exposures added to make this image. For the K-line, 60 ticks = 1 second. The time of observation is the start time of the first exposure. Tha actual mean time of the image is discussed in the K-line History file: loop.timing . The realtime log began in November 1991. Logs from earlier times have been made from the data tapes and contain the basic information listed above; they may also have the following additional values: XC Center of the Sun along first data axis, pixels. YC Center of the Sun along second datra axis, pixels. R0 Radius of the Sun, pixels. SCATTER Scattered light in a box, ADU. The earlier logs also have entries for the calibration images, which do not appear in the realtime logs.
