MCCD Data archive tape logs MCCD raw data files are written on old Exabyte 8200 drives. To make the data more useful and accessible, these tapes are copied onto disk, the files correctly named, and then archived onto Exabyte Mammoth tapes using TAR, analogous to the IVM. The tarlog files here come from that process. The date is the date of the last day of data on the disk at the time of archiving, so that the names better reflect the data rather than the (much later) date of archiving.
