We use Universal Time for all of our observations. There is 10 hours difference between UT and HST (Hawaiian Standard Time). We do not use Daylight Savings Time in Hawaii.
Therefore, midnight in UT occurs at 2 in the afternoon in Hawaii:
8 am in Hawaii = 1800 UT
12 noon = 2200 UT
2 pm = 0000 UT
5 pm = 0300 UT
10 pm = 0800 UT
12 midnight = 1000 UT
