MEES PUBLIC DATA POLICY

The online data from the Mees Solar Observatory, Haleakala, Hawaii are available to any user. The online data are products of processing through the data verification level: products at this level are reduced in spatial, temporal, spectral, and photometric resolution compared to the original data. We use these products to verify the operation of the instruments, the analysis pipeline, and the quality of the observations, and for operations planning, pictorial display and qualitative analysis. Users requiring higher level processing or access to a different sample of the original data are invited to contact us.

People are free to use our data with the following restrictions:

  1. If you use our data, please send us an email telling us. Continued availability of the data depends on continued funding, which depends on the usage of the data. Contact the Mees Data Use Coordinator, Dr. Donald Mickey, mickey at ifa.hawaii.edu

  2. If you use the data or some product based on the data in a published paper, we ask that you include an acknowledgement as follows:
